First Visit to Citi Field

Citi Field, located in Flushing, New York, is a $1 Billion baseball stadium that is home to the New York Mets, New York’s second major league baseball team. Dine at the Acela Club
If you aren’t willing to settle for common ballpark food found at the concession stands, look for the Acela Club, a classy four-tiered restaurant with attached bar. The Acela Club features fine dining menus and décor that is fitting of upscale restaurants. Patrons must attend a Mets game to get access to the club. If you are headed for a day game and want to be seated here, adult tickets will cost $41, plus the cost of food and beverages. Night games will cost $48 plus the price of food and beverages.

Have a Professional Take Your Photo
Don’t ruin your visit to Citi Stadium with an ordinary cell phone photo that won’t do any justice to a memorable trip to for a Mets game. Hire one of the many professional photographers that can be found all around the baseball park. Watch Batting Practice
When the Subway Series is on, gates open 2.5 hours before game time to account for the rush of New York fans. On all other game days, Citi Field gates are opened 1.5 hours before game time. Go as early as you can if you want to watch your favorite Mets players take batting practice. Of course, there might be days when the Mets might not take batting practice or even infield practice before the game. Generally the team skips pre-game practices on day games following night games or night games following long, extra-inning games.

Food at Citi Field
Citi Field has various vendors to ensure that you have all the baseball food that you desire, from concession stands that are located all around the ballpark. Hot dogs, nachos, ice cream, French fries, burgers, salads, desserts, New York style pizza, beer, ribs and barbeque pulled pork sandwiches are just a small sampling of what you will find at the stadium. There is even a seafood stand that serves fresh seafood prepared by an award winning gourmet chef. Who could have thought that you could buy lobster rolls, fried flounder and clam chowder at a baseball park? Credit cards are accepted at all the concession stands.

Mets Hall of Fame and the Citi Field Museum
The Hall of Fame and the Mets museum is located alongside the Jackie Robinson rotunda just inside the gates to Citi Field. The small, three room venue is open from the time gates open until the game ends. Just remember that flash photography is not allowed while in the museum. The museum is also connected with the Mets Team Store.

Mets Team Store
The Mets Team Store is a memorable store that is adjacent to the Jackie Robinson rotunda and next to the Hall of Fame and Mets Museum. Apart from the usual jerseys, t-shirts and novelty team items on sale, you also have the option to order personalized jerseys and even order personalized bats from this team store. The store also sells unique Mets memorabilia from famous games, autographed items from popular Mets players, and an array of Mets-themed tschotskes for fans of all ages.
